Nigeria ranks second to Eritrea in road accidents – FRSC
The Federal Road Safety Corps on Friday said that Nigeria ranked second to Eritrea in road accident rate. It therefore solicited the support of traditional rulers across the country to check accidents on the highways and reduce it by 50 per cent in line with a declaration by the United Nations. ‘US expanding spying network in Africa’
The United States military is expanding a secret network of air bases across Africa in order to spy on al-Qaeda and other such groups, a US newspaper said, Aljazeera reports.The surveillance is carried out by small, unmarked turboprop planes with hidden state-of-the-art sensors that fly thousands of kilometres between air bases and bush landing strips across the vast continent, the Washington Post reported on Wednesday. Police quiz, detain Lawan
EMBATTLED Chairman of the fuel subsidy probe panel in the House of Representatives, Farouk Lawan, on Thursday surrendered himself to police for interrogation over the $620,000 bribe he had confessed to receiving from an oil marketer, Femi Otedola.The lawmaker was subsequently interrogated and detained along with the Clerk of his committee, Boniface Emenalo.
